Canva AI 2.0 Teases Prompted Designs, 3D, Audio, and Slack + Notion Automations

Canva teased Canva AI 2.0, a major expansion of its AI tooling that pushes the product beyond static templates and into prompted, multi-modal, automated workflows.

The preview focused on three pillars:

Prompt-to-design: users will be able to describe a full design — a deck, a poster, a landing page, a social carousel — and have Canva generate an editable, on-brand version without manually dragging elements.

3D and audio: in addition to images and video, Canva AI 2.0 can prompt 3D elements and audio into existence. That pulls 3D mockups, product spins, and music or voiceover generation directly into the Canva canvas rather than requiring separate tools.

External automations: Canva will connect with tools like Slack and Notion to schedule automated tasks — for example, auto-publishing a weekly report card, kicking off a design approval flow when a Notion page changes, or posting refreshed assets into a Slack channel on a schedule.

The bigger story is the repositioning. Canva is no longer just a design tool with AI sprinkled in; with 2.0, it is angling to be the asset and workflow hub for AI-generated visuals across an organization. Prompted designs, richer media types, and direct hooks into the tools where teams already work push Canva closer to the 'agentic design studio' slot that Figma, Adobe, and several smaller startups are also chasing.

A broader rollout timeline was not shared, but the teased feature set signals where Canva intends to compete for the next cycle.
