Anthropic's Claude is now an official AI option inside Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, and Mac running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, following Apple's WWDC 2026 announcement on June 8. Users who select Claude as their Apple Intelligence provider will interact with Claude's voice and persona when asking for help with writing, research, complex questions, and cross-app tasks. Previously Claude was available only through Anthropic's own apps and APIs.
The scale is hard to overstate. Apple has roughly 2.2 billion active devices globally. Even modest adoption — 5% of iOS 27 users choosing Claude — would translate to more than 100 million new Claude users, potentially more than doubling Anthropic's current estimated base. The consumer brand exposure alone exceeds anything Anthropic could buy through advertising.
The commercial terms have not been disclosed. Analysts assume a revenue-share arrangement in which Anthropic receives a per-query or per-active-user fee for Claude responses routed through Apple Intelligence, creating a new recurring consumer revenue line distinct from its enterprise API and Claude.ai subscriptions. The timing is notable, arriving as Anthropic finalizes its IPO process after its $965 billion Series H round.
There are caveats. Because the reasoning runs on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, Anthropic does not control the infrastructure for Claude on iPhone the way it does for its own products, which lowers revenue visibility. For a company in an IPO process where predictability matters, a consumer rev-share that depends on how many users flip a settings toggle is harder to model than enterprise contracts. Still, as a distribution event, native placement on every new iPhone is among the largest consumer expansions in Anthropic's history.
