IBM joined Project Glasswing on May 19, 2026, announced jointly by Anthropic and IBM. The company becomes one of approximately 50 partners in the consortium, which already includes AWS, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, JPMorgan Chase, Palo Alto Networks, Cloudflare, and Mozilla.
IBM Research is using the program to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in widely deployed software and to share findings with the broader community. IBM Concert, the company's AI-driven vulnerability-management platform, is being applied to Glasswing workflows to unify application, infrastructure, and security intelligence.
"AI-powered attacks have already moved beyond what traditional defenses can match," said Rob Thomas, SVP of Software and Chief Commercial Officer at IBM, adding that the company is hardening its own products and contributing fixes back to the open-source community.
IBM's participation matters because it operates across more than 175 countries and manages security-sensitive mainframe, hybrid-cloud, and financial-transaction systems, while its Concert workflows target the remediation bottleneck the Glasswing update highlighted.
