Microsoft has pledged more than $1 billion to build out AI and cloud infrastructure in Thailand between 2026 and 2028, including new data centers developed with local partners.
The commitment is positioned as part of Thailand's national push to strengthen its AI competitiveness and digital economy.
The investment continues a broader pattern of major cloud providers expanding data center capacity across Southeast Asia to meet surging demand for AI workloads and to bring compute closer to regional customers.
Microsoft said the build-out would also include skilling and partnership initiatives intended to support local developers and businesses adopting AI.
