Google's Gemini now connects to more third-party apps including OpenTable, Canva, and Instacart, letting users book restaurant tables, design flyers, and order groceries directly through the assistant.

The integrations push Gemini past information discovery into real-world action. With OpenTable, once Gemini identifies a matching table, you can instruct it to book the slot instantly — the assistant then pushes the confirmed reservation onto Google Calendar and sets a reminder. With Instacart, you can check availability of groceries and household items in stores and add items directly to your cart. With Canva, users can streamline design workflows and generate ideas using Gemini.

All three are MCP-based integrations launched alongside Gemini Spark at Google I/O 2026 on May 19. Adobe, Samsung, Spotify, CapCut, GitHub, Notion, and Slack are coming over the summer. The shift from chat to action is what turns an assistant into an operating layer.
