Anthropic is set to close a massive $30 billion funding round at a pre-money valuation exceeding $900 billion as soon as the end of May 2026, according to Bloomberg. The deal would vault the Claude maker past OpenAI to become the world's most valuable private AI company, surpassing OpenAI's $852 billion March valuation.

Sequoia Capital, Dragoneer Investment Group, Altimeter Capital, and Greenoaks Capital Partners are expected to co-lead the round, each planning to invest roughly $2 billion. Existing investors including Peter Thiel's Founders Fund and General Catalyst are also anticipated to participate.

The valuation jump is dramatic — Anthropic's last confirmed private valuation was $380 billion during its $30 billion Series G in February 2026. The company's run-rate revenue now surpasses $30 billion, up from approximately $9 billion at the end of 2025, with over 1,000 business customers spending more than $1 million annually.

The fundraise reflects explosive demand for Anthropic's Claude models, particularly in enterprise. The company doubled its million-dollar-plus customer base in less than two months, signaling that AI infrastructure spend is accelerating faster than even bullish projections anticipated.
