Suno, the AI music generation platform, raised $400 million in Series D funding at a $5.4 billion valuation, more than doubling its previous $2.45 billion valuation from November 2025. The round was led by Bond Capital, with participation from IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon Capital Management, and Quiet.
The platform has reached significant scale milestones, surpassing 2 million paying subscribers and ranking third in Apple's App Store music category across multiple countries. Users now generate over 7 million songs daily on the platform.
The fundraise comes amid ongoing legal battles with major record labels. Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment sued Suno in 2024 for copyright infringement, but WMG settled its case in November 2025 and announced a licensing partnership. Litigation with the remaining labels continues.
Suno's rapid growth reflects broader momentum in generative AI for creative applications, though the legal landscape around AI-generated music remains unsettled. The company plans to use the funding to expand its platform capabilities and scale its user base further.
